1. Write the autobiography of Perry thirty years after the war has ended. Thirty years should give him a clear, mature perspective on what kind of person he was when he went into the war and how it has affected the rest of his life. Also, include his thoughts and feelings about the other members of the squad over the years and details about his last conversations with them.
2. Create a guidebook of terms and places that would have been useful to a soldier who had just arrived in Vietnam. Organize your guidebook by subject area, and provide descriptions, including illustrations and maps, where helpful.
3. Create a resource page that will guide other students to useful internet sources on the Vietnam War. Begin by searching the Web for pages that offer helpful and reliable information. Then, pick 7 sites and write a brief review of each that explains:
The kind of information it offers
What makes it a useful and authoritative resource
The particular ways it will advance students’ knowledge of the Vietnam War
Compile your reviews and make your page interesting with graphics.
4. Create a mural based on Fallen Angels or the Vietnam War. Use one or more large pieces of posterboard to make a mural large enough to express major themes of the novel.
